A price rise never touches a pack you've bought
Certificates draw down your packs oldest first, at the rate you paid. If you buy a bigger pack later, we convert what you're still holding to the better rate — never to a worse one.
Certificates stay verifiable for seven years
Even if you stop using certpass. A trainee shouldn't lose the ability to prove a credential they earned because their RTO changed systems.
Common questions
Do my trainees need an app or an account?
No. After you press Send, each trainee gets an email and a text with a claim link — no password, no app store. One tap adds the certificate to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, or downloads the signed PDF.
Do trainees really get a text message, or just an email?
Both. Every trainee gets an SMS with their claim link as well as an email, at no extra cost per certificate. It matters because a text gets read the day the course finishes, while a PDF attachment sits unopened in an inbox — and it means a trainee with no work email address still gets their certificate.
Does certpass replace our USI portal or AVETMISS reporting?
No — certpass sits alongside your compliance reporting, not in place of it. You keep uploading to the USI portal and reporting AVETMISS exactly as you do now. certpass handles the trainee-facing certificate: the wallet pass, the PDF, and verification.
How does an employer check a certificate is real?
Every wallet pass and PDF carries a QR code linking to a permanent verification page on certpass.com.au. An employer or site supervisor scans it and sees the certificate, the issuing RTO, and its current status — no login needed.
What does it cost?
Every RTO gets a free monthly allowance of certificates, so you can start without paying anything. Beyond that, you buy prepaid certificate packs — the bigger the pack, the lower the per-certificate rate. Credit never expires.
What happens to certificates if we stop using certpass?
They keep working. Issued certificates remain verifiable for seven years after an account closes — a trainee never loses the ability to prove their training because their RTO changed systems.
How does trainee data get in?
Type trainees in directly, or import the spreadsheet your current student management system exports — the importer maps your columns to ours, so it doesn’t need to match any template. An aXcelerate integration is in beta, with Wisenet, ReadyTech and eSkilled on the roadmap.
Can anyone issue certificates with certpass?
No. Only ASQA-registered training organisations can sign up — every RTO is verified against training.gov.au and the Australian Business Register, and signup is confirmed through the RTO’s officially published contact details.
